At Funny and Jewish we have two things in our favour: an inquisitive nature and our sense of humour – barely. We like to ask questions and enjoy receiving them from lost visitors who accidentally end up on our site.

Explaining Israeli Opposition to Land Swap Deals
According to independent surveys, only 39 percent of Israelis support President Obama’s blueprint for a Palestinian state along pre-1967 borders, with even fewer giving any consideration to “land-swaps”.
The studies found that while only 27 percent supported Obama’s Middle-East vision, an astounding 12 percent had absolutely no opinion at all! This number was later attributed to Israeli Orthodox Jews who wouldn’t answer their doorbell when the survey was taken on the Sabbath, but we can guess how they’d respond.
Land swaps have never been popular because quite simply, only non-Jews go to swap meets. Really. It’s a gentile thing. Jews have no idea what they are. The closest thing we have is the Hadassah Bazaar.
Besides, with Israel being “the apartheid state” that it is accused of being, the question remains: how will Israeli-Arabs feel after surrendering their independence, democratic freedoms and economic advantages that they currently enjoy but which exclusively came with their soon-to-be confiscated Israeli citizenship? We’re guessing not so supportive.
Explaining Syria’s National Defense Policy
According to rising civilian casualties, Syrians are much more concerned about defending themselves against their own government than from Israelis. The irony is as staggering as it is comically tragic and explains their aversion to fight the Jewish State. While Syrians are no doubt desirous to recapture the Golan’s strategic vineyards, they are far more fearful of being imprisoned, tortured and killed by their own militia through shootings, shelling and public executions.
And that’s just from the Syrian volunteer brigade!
